Who we are
This website is operated as part of DiverseVET, a project co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme.
UNITEE, registered at Place du Luxembourg 2, 1050 Brussels, Belgium, email info@unitee.eu, acts as the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
What personal data we collect
We only collect personal data that you actively provide to us, together with limited technical data needed to operate and improve the website.
| What we collect | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Name and email address (contact form) | To respond to your enquiry |
| Email address (newsletter sign-up) | To send you project updates you have requested |
| Anonymised usage data (pages visited, approximate region, device type) | To understand how the website is used and improve it |
| Cookie preferences | To remember the choices you made in the cookie banner |
We do not collect special categories of personal data, and we do not ask visitors to disclose personal information about their background or identity in order to use this website.
Legal basis for processing
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): for the newsletter and for any non-essential cookies, including analytics.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): for responding to messages you send us through the contact form.
- Public interest and the terms of our EU grant agreement (Art. 6(1)(e) GDPR): for communicating and disseminating the results of a publicly funded project.
Who has access to your data
Your data is accessible to the DiverseVET communication team and, where relevant, to the project partners involved in the activity you contacted us about. We also use the following service providers, which act as data processors on our behalf:
- Website hosting: OVH. Servers are located in the European Union.
- Newsletter distribution: Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., United States). Transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
- Form spam protection: Cloudflare Turnstile. Used only to detect automated submissions and does not track users for advertising purposes.
- Website analytics: Google Analytics. Used only where you have given consent, with IP anonymisation enabled.
We never sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
How long we keep your data
Contact form messages are deleted after 24 months. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until unsubscribed. Analytics data is retained for the project duration, until 31 March 2030.
Please note that records connected to an EU-funded project may need to be retained for a longer period in order to meet audit obligations under the grant agreement.
Data Protection Officer
UNITEE does not have a formally designated Data Protection Officer. For any enquiry or request regarding data protection, please contact info@unitee.eu.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
Privacy requests should be sent to info@unitee.eu. We will respond to any request within one month.
If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in our case the Belgian Data Protection Authority (GBA / APD).
Children
This website is intended for an adult professional audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
